Considering this is the "second" wine from Spottswoode, it is astonishingly good. But that should surprise no one familiar with this iconic Napa Valley winery. It rocks from the very first whiff, which shows notes of cassis, blackberry, cedar, graphite and spice. It only gets better from there. On the palate the the wine is suave and refined, with supple tannins and a sophisticated texture and impressive weight. The finish exhibits remarkable length. Throughout the delivery the wine is elegant and memorable every step of the way.
