A bold style for MacRostie, with more black fruit than red. It’s quite ripe, but manages to carry very bright acidity to keep the ripeness from getting out of hand. Black cherry, blackberry, cardamom and dry earth aromas translate nicely on the palate, with big oak spice coming forward in the finish. Give this one a fair amount of air time and serve with a blackened salmon or prime rib.
