Maison Joseph Drouhin, Macon-Villages (Burgundy, France) 2016

Jan 24, 2018

By Michael Apstein

One of Drouhin’s talents is that, along with their top-notch prestigious Burgundies, they make high-quality wines from appellations with lesser pedigrees, such as Macon-Villages.  This Chardonnay-based wine, while ripe for Drouhin’s style, still does not approach the opulence seen in many New World Chardonnay.  Although this is an excellent choice as a stand-alone aperitif, its charms do not fade during a meal.
