A delicious example of what is often an overlooked northern Rhône red, this Saint-Joseph can hold its own with many wines from Hermitage or Cornas. It’s not as complete as the finest examples from those more prestigious appellations, but it’s every bit as good as most others. Like then, it is made with Syrah, and exhibits a distinctly earthy undertone beneath its ripe, dark fruit flavors.
