Marisco Vineyards The Ned, Waihopai Valley (Marlborough, New Zealand) Pinot Gris 2017

 Brent Marris definitely has the chops.  As a young winemaker he was responsible for the development of two major New Zealand brands, Oyster Bay and Wither Hills.  In 2003 he launched The Ned brand.  This immensely appealing Pinot Gris is pale yellow with delicate tinges of pinkish-gray.  It has floral aromas followed by rich and deep flavors dominated by pear.  The wine is medium-full bodied, mouth-filling and beautifully balanced, and it has a long and delicious finish.
