The Butterfly, La Farfalla in Italian, is the spirit animal of the Marta Valpiani winery. A family-run, boutique winery from Italy’s northern region of Emilia-Romagna, Marta Valiani celebrates the biodiversity on their vineyards to include plenty of wildflowers and butterflies. La Farfalla, the wine, is a meant-to-enjoy-young Sangiovese. Its strawberry and red cherry blend nicely with tomato leaf, bay leaf, and mineral notes. Sangiovese’s natural acidity makes La Farfalla an excellent food pairing wine and its “enjoy now” profile makes this a great wine for both retail and restaurant wine lists.
