Mary Taylor Wines works with local European villages to produce outstanding wines from their region. This Portuguese white was superb and certainly fits the model. On the nose, I found notes ranging from sourdough and white blossom to tropical kiwi and melon fruit. On the palate, it shows bruised apple, clove, and mango lead into a round yogurt, lemon, and honey finish. The bottom line is that this wine is everything I love about Portuguese whites. It has complexity in both texture and flavor and demonstrates outstanding winemaking quality. At 12.5% alcohol, I would pair this wine with fresh air on a sunny day, caracóis, or cured meat. You won’t be disappointed.
