Mas de Gourgonnier, Les Baux de Provence (France) 2018

 Isn’t this exactly what you and your palate hope to find in a judiciously priced red wine from Provence, the lovely region in southern France?  It is a rich and charming blend of multiple grapes including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan coming from a family owned-and-operated estate that has been turning out organic wines for several decades.  This bold and adroitly balanced blend is definitely a friendly partner for straightforward foods such as burgers, red-sauced pasta, and of course pizza.
