Piedmont is known for Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto, but Arneis one of the region’s classic white wines. Arneis almost went extinct in the 1970s but has been growing in popularity and is one of my favorites from the region. Mauro Molino’s Arneis is incredibly expressive with notes reminiscent of grapefruit and mango with undertones of floral honeysuckle and lily. The wine’s acidity provides excellent structure making the wine a good choice for light foods. I’m craving goat cheese which should pair excellently with the wine’s complex floral notes.
