Corbières is a wide ranging appellation in the south of France and there are many styles of wine made here. One of the finest is the Rozeta from Maxime Magnon. Drawn from old Grenache, Carignan, and Cinsault vines grown in spare, rocky soils at the higher elevations in Corbières, the Rozeta is both ethereal and substantial. The 2022 rendition entices with its aromas of strawberries, flowers, subtle dried herbs and savory spice. The flavors reflect its sunny Corbières heritage with ripe, zesty strawberry and raspberry fruits enhanced by intriguing hints of thyme and marjoram and a lifted, peppery spice at the finish. There is a delicate and nuanced character to the Rozeta that sets it apart for the heartier red wines for which Corbières is best known.
