In recent years, a lot has been accomplished in the vineyard and the winery with Petite Sirah, making the wine more accessible and less rustic. This young “Pet,” aged for four months in French and American oak, has a deep ruby color, forward fruity aroma with smoky-earthy notes, big tannins supporting ripe dark fruit flavors, 14.5% alcohol and a medium dry finish with a little heat.
