This convincing rendition of Sangiovese shows lots of character derived from light spice notes, a leathery undertone, and a little whiff of wood, all based on a core of dried cherry fruit. There’s enough acidity in this to bring Tuscan Sangiovese wines to mind, which is certainly an indicator of success — with a variety that has a rather spotty record in the Golden State. A Double Gold award winner at the 2018 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition.
