While Paso Robles may be good ground for Sangiovese, if this wine is an indication, the area seems to miss out as a site for Merlot. Aged in French and Hungarian oak, this tannic Merlot has a deep ruby color, low intensity berry aroma with hints of French oak, big ripe flavors, 14.7% alcohol and a long tannic finish with heat.
