My favorite California Sangiovese producer nails it once again with the 2019 vintage, which is already showing beautifully. Think Chianti Classico with a Cali twist of ripeness here, with classic markers of cherry, sage, dry earth notes, focused acidity and a food-friendly grip that’s ready for your favorite Italian fare, saucy or otherwise. Winemaker Rusty Folena added a little Canaiolo Nero to the mix here, and it’s working.
