Paolo Manzone’s ’09 ‘Meriame’ Barolo is a stunning wine from the first whiff to the last sip, and well-priced given the exceptional quality. On the nose this beauty exhibits floral notes and a hint of earth. On the palate it delivers dark cherry aroma, a hedonistic earthiness and firm grape tannins that will mellow with time. It cries out for savory meat and mushroom dishes.
