Paul Hobbs is rich and famous and handsome, which would be more than enough to make me hate him… if not for this wine. It is rich without being heavy, and shows good complexity from deft use of oak but still seems much more a product of the vineyard than the cellar. Entirely satisfying without trying too hard, this will provide more versatility and pleasure than most California Chardonnays priced over $40.
