Over recent vintages this winery has worked with this small vineyard east of Jacksonville and together the combination is a winner. This is attractive as a not too Viognier: not too ripe and exotic, not too oaky, not too high in alcohol, and not too overpowering. In other words, it is a solid, food friendly Viognier. The color is a light straw and the aroma offers lovely ripe pear and melon with an intriguing touch of ginger. Medium bodied, the wine expands on the palate again with pear along with lychee and honeysuckle flavors. Crisp and balanced, it finishes with long lasting pear and ginger in the aftertaste. Though attractive now, this is one beautifully balanced Viognier that should age well for at least 5 years.
