Pisano is a family-operated, artisan winery located in the Progreso district of Canelones. In Uruguay, Tannat is virtually the national variety and with this “small reserve,” Pisano creates a fruit-forward Bordeaux blend with a Uruguayan spin. The Pisano family rarely overdoes the oak and their lighter handed approach shows. The wine’s red cherry, red licorice, and cranberry notes blend nicely against potting soil and crushed violets.
