Most of Sicily is so far south (below the northern coast of Africa) that one might assume that the wines would be thick and jammy on account of hot growing conditions, but somehow the Italian flair for fresh reds manages to win out. This is a delicious case in point featuring juicy flavors recalling pie cherries and red berries with light finishing tannins and just the faintest whiff of oak. Delicious and very versatile at the table.
