Poderio Luigi Einaudi, Barolo (Piedmont, Italy) 2008

I love the wines from this estate, and they always show very well even when I’m tasting blind and any favoritism is impossible, as was the case at this year’s Nebbiolo Prima  tastings.  This terrific Barolo shows plenty of toasty oak and a light minty note underneath, followed by flavorful but focused fruit and a firm finish structured by spicy oak.
