Presqu’ile is notable for stylistic choices that buck current marketplace trends and offering interesting if quite different alternatives. This Syrah shows cool climate sense of place with an emphasis on pepper and herbs, showing subtle cherry and meaty notes underneath. Lively acidity keeps it together through a blossoming finish. This wine might be dismissed in a blind flight of domestic Syrah for its subtlety and elegance, but that would be a shame.
