From a 10-year-old, high elevation vineyard in Maipu, this wine was fermented by native yeasts and aged in french oak. From the get-go, with its youthful dark garnet, this wine does not hold back. The aroma combines blackberry and ripe plum fruit with floral tobacco leaf notes. The flavors pick up touches of strawberry, pepper and leather, all delivered in a medium bodied, plush package. The fine-grained tannins provide a little dusty touch to the finish. It drinks well now but could benefit from short-term cellaring. 3,000 bottles produced.
