Quinta das Arcas steps up the Vinho Verde game with this Alvarinho Conde Villar. This white wine shows rich complex flavors, uncommon for a Vinho Verde, with nectarine, peach, and saline notes leading the way. The winery uses lees aging to provide more body while the Alvarinho’s natural acidity keeps the palate fresh. At $24, this is priced above most Vinho Verdes, but don’t let that push you away — the extra $5 is well worth the improvement in quality.
