Quinta de Darei, Dão DOC (Portugal) 2019

 I love Portuguese Branco (white) wines for their high quality, low prices, and memorable flavor profile.  Lagar de Darei is a classic representation with tropical fruit, round almost-bready mouthfeel from battonage during the winemaking process, and nice food-friendly acidity.  At $20, the clean lines and fresh fruit notes of this wine are enjoyable any day of the week and the round mouthfeel makes this a year-around enjoyable wine.  I would love to see this wine by the glass — I’d pick it every time.
