The Douro river cuts through Northern Portugal’s arid climate providing beautiful slopes which hosts numerous vineyards, a source of water, and a source of transportation that was critical to the region’s wine development. This Douro Superior, comprised of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, and Tinta Roriz, is dark and sumptuous with red and black fruit supported by leather, cedar, and cocoa notes. This is a big wine with a large tannic structure – I would pair it with burgers or the red meat of your choice.
