Based in Sonoma County, Raeburn is owned by the Benhem family and is best known for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This is my first encounter with its Sauvignon Blanc and it distinguished itself in a tasting for its wide appeal. Pale in color, it has an attractive aroma of fresh pear and hints of honeysuckle and jasmine. On the palate it is soft and nicely textured with juicy fruit and some flinty, citrus flavors. Though soft, it finishes with good acidity for a lingering finish. A popular style that lends itself to enjoyment as an aperitif or as a complement to the first course.
