Elegant is not a word usually found in descriptions of this variety, but rules are meant to have exceptions. A very pretty nose with herbal, blackberry cassis aromas leads to a palate that’s intense in the mouth but not heavy, with very smooth tannins. Not your father’s Petite Sirah.
