The 2022 Ultreia La Claudina is a fresh, bright, textured Godello from the celebrated Spanish winemaker Raúl Pérez. It is fermented in open-top fermenters with its skins and stems. In the spring, like Sherry, the wine develops a layer of yeast called flor, which forms on the surface. This process adds a rich complexity of aromas and flavors. The La Claudina reveals classic aromas of ripe peaches, green apples, orange blossoms, wildflower honey, sourdough, and wet stone. The texture is medium-bodied, with a lively pop of acidity and a high altitude minerality, creating a beautifully balanced and energetic wine.
