Red Lily Vineyards, Rogue Valley (Oregon) Tempranillo 2015

 One of the very few Rogue Valley wineries with a focus, Red Lily makes Tempranillo in three styles, and a Rosé.  It also makes a delightful Verdejo.  Winemaker-owner, Rachael Martin draws from her 14-acre estate vineyard planted to four clones of Tempranillo in the Applegate Valley sub-region of the Rogue Valley.  The 2015 Red Blanket is blended with Cabernet but retains a solid core of Tempranillo’s plum and licorice flavors with a subtle dose of tobacco.  Medium-bodied with good structure and an open, broad palate with licorice and some fine-grained tannins.  A successful drink now style.
