Big, compact, full of ripe fruit and alcohol (well sure–it’s Zinfandel!) Renwood’s “Premier” is nonetheless so nicely balanced that it would be churlish to focus only on how it lacks subtlety. Come on, is a wild, rolling, welcome thunderstorm subtle? In fact, all the wine’s disparate elements, including the vibrant berry fruits, are woven together into a harmonious whole. Bring on the barbecue!
