Rock Ferry’s Orchard Vineyard Pinot Rosé is one of the more nerdy and interesting Rosés I’ve enjoyed this year. The name is a play on words because Rock Ferry is blending Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris into this wine. The wine’s bright acidity is instantly captivating and supports both tart and ripe fruit including spiced pear, pink grapefruit, strawberry, and melon notes. The wine sees six months of lees aging, adding both body and a subtle soft cheese rind note. The boldness is ideal for New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc lovers who are looking for other options with the same power and zip.
