This has all the stuffing you could want in a super ripe Zinfandel – black and red berries, zesty acidity, a little herb, a little pepper and a little heat that works well in the presentation. Not many sites are able to keep the pepper notes intact at this ripeness level, but a combination of a great vintage and a great site conspires to bring out more than you might expect. It finishes long and bright, with balanced acidity that will serve red meats well.
