Rutherford Ranch’s 2016 Carneros Chardonnay is a big, fairly sweet fruit-centric white wine liberally dosed with oak. For my palate anyway, this Chardonnay is so intense that it is better with food than on its own. Something fried, for example (chicken, perhaps), or buttery. Popcorn anyone? This might be the perfect wine to pair with a TV blockbuster film.
