An argument can be made that there isn’t enough Carignane being bottled as a stand-alone varietal wine thanks to wines like this one. The fruit shows its Amador roots, coming from Rocky Top vineyard’s 60 year old vines, and it delivers huge cherry cola aromas, peppery cherry and spice flavors and a long finish with a firm grip throughout. Grilled steak, braised short ribs or a blackened fish dish will work well. A Platinum Award winner at the 2015 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition.
