Fans of an oak driven, stylized glass of red wine that still has the flavor and acidic punch to stand up to a great meal will love this value priced Barbera. Oodles of new oak here, but the fruit is more than up to the task of taming it. Huge cherry and leaf aromas and flavors balance the bold oak spice very nicely, and though the oak is forward in the finish, the fruit doesn’t vanish, instead playing off the spice and keeping you coming back to the glass. Barbera’s signature acidity is the key, and it will open the door to a fine dining experience when paired with grilled beef or venison. A Platinum Award winner at the 2016 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition.
