Northern Italy’s Dolcetto grape has found a welcome home in Texas, especially in the High Plains AVA. Spirit of Texas Winery’s version is an absolute delight, showing spicy black cherry aromas and round, juicy black cherry, with a touch of almond extract flavors. The juicy roundness is juxtaposed with lively crisp, acidity. Tannins are integrated, ripe and smooth. It is a versatile wine, equally at home with a burger, cheese quesadilla, or fried chicken.
