St. Supéry’s 2018 Rutherford Estate Vineyard Merlot is actually a blend of 88% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Wafting from the glass are scents of bramble berries, cedar, and forest floor. In the mouth, flavors of bright cherries fade to a chocolatey finish, enveloped by velvety smooth tannins. This wine manages to feel lush and supple without becoming unbalanced — a great wine to sip as the weather cools.
