Carbonic-macerated Californian Sangiovese isn’t something that you come across every day but maybe it should be. Stolpman Vineyard’s “Love You Bunches’ carbonic Sangiovese is just plain delicious. It’s floral, it’s fruity, it’s funky — it’s everything you would want from an easy drinking, chillable red. What is surprising is that even with the drinkability and fun that carbonic maceration lends the wine, Stolpman still manages to retain the depth and typicity of the Sangiovese grape, with notes of bright sour cherry and a subtly refreshing tomato leaf coming through. This is a fun and surprising wine that will be perfect as warmer Spring weather moves in over the coming months.
