This is the least expensive of three Pinot Noirs that Talbott makes from its winery estate in interior Monterey, and it has the least oak influence, spending nine months in oak that is only ten percent new. It is a fresh, vibrant Pinot that nonetheless shows ripe fruit character. Aromas and flavors suggest dark berry and savory notes, with decent concentration on a narrow frame, and a thrust of fresh fruit across the length of the palate. A lovely Pinot Noir, and a good value.
