Needless to say, I went straight to Wine Grapes by Jancis Robinson, et al., to learn more about the Tsolikouri (pronounced, so le COUR ee) white grape variety from the western side of the Republic of Georgia. I had recently tasted it and was charmed by its light yellow color and delicate dry, melon, citrus aromas and flavors perfectly balanced with subtle acidity. The authors noted that “Teliani Valley make a good varietal example.” So, if you want to experience the flavors and charm of this grape, this is the wine.
