Though I have always been impressed by any of Frescobaldi’s Chianti Rufina — after all they are THE name in that appellation — I remember being disappointed when I tasted their first vintage of Chianti Classico a few years ago. No longer! With black juicy fruit, this vivacious mid-weight wine is a wonderful example of Chianti Classico. A touch of spice and a hint of bitterness in the finish adds complexity and keeps you coming back for another sip. A delightful choice for a hearty pasta dish this fall.
