The Maremma offers a different look at Tuscan Sangiovese, its marine influence offering a slightly cooler climate than the Chianti region. The result here is a darker wine that features black cherry and wild berry with spice and a firm grip through the finish, showing some toasty oak at the end. Go with something a little on the salty side as a pairing — say charcuterie and a goat or sheep milk cheese.
