This wine is a blend of 70% Nebbiolo, 20% Croatina, and 10% Vespolina, a typical mix of grapes for the area. The nose is pretty with a rustic edge. Notes of fresh cherry and blackberry are framed by blossoms, tobacco, leather, and herbs. The core of the wine is the lean, almost tart, blackberry and cherry fruit. The tannins are dusty, acidity is elevated, and alcohol is a relatively modest 13%. This structure makes a supple and pleasing texture. Sweet fruit and a medicinal note linger.
