Since it first appeared on the scene in 1998, Tohu, the first Maori-owned winery, has focused on Sauvignon Blanc from several sub-regions within Marlborough. Awatere Valley is located in the southern corner, and this 2022 is bright and lively. With an aroma of lime, fresh cut grass and a touch of fennel, it is medium bodied. On the palate it delivers citrus and mineral/stone fruit flavors. It finishes long with fine but not excessive acidity and offers a more pleasing texture than the typical Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc.
