This wine is derived from grapes grown in the southern end of Napa Valley at Mast Vineyard. This cooler area results in a lighter style than other TOR Cabernet Sauvignons, and for this reason the oak is more apparent. There is enough structure and fruit here for aging, and the wine needs some time. The blackberry, blueberry, and boysenberry fruits are distinct. Dark chocolate notes are indicative of weighty oak, while rose petal notes add lift. Tannins are plentiful, but not overpowering. The finish is long and velvety.
