Salmos vines grow at about 2500 feet above sea level in arid, rocky soil, so perhaps it is this challenging environment that gives the wine so much character. Replete with bright color and dynamic tannins (a legacy of the Cariñena included in the blend) plus considerable elegance (contributed by Syrah), Salmos throbs with perfectly ripe fruit, and it’s intense and concentrated without being heavy.
