From the Gil Family Estates’ Bodega Tridente comes a better-than-it-has-to-be 100% Tempranillo wine. The grapes are from old vines of up to 100 years old, trained in the traditional vaso system, which means the vines support themselves on short trunks. The 2019 grapes were hand-harvested and began fermentation in stainless steel, then are moved to French oak to finish fermentation. This dark ruby colored wine is showing fresh and spicy cherry, blackberry aromas and flavors. It is light bodied and finishes with bright acidity and chewy tannins. Serve it with a burger, a selection of cured meats, or a chunk of Manchego.
