Turnbull, Oakville – Napa Valley (California) Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2021 ($110)

This blend of fruit from Leopoldina and Fortuna vineyards is wildly expressive already and promises a long life ahead. Classic blackberry and cassis notes along with a blue fruit streak are well complemented by the barrel influence, which adds structure and spice. As the oak folds in further over time, this will likely gain a point or two on my already-high score for it, and when you look at the Napa Valley Cabernet landscape, it is a relative bargain that’s tough to compete with. Another stellar 2021 from this grape variety. Contains 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot.
