Winemaker Anthony Vietri probably knows more about Nebbiolo than any other American producer and grows many clones of it which he blends into this signature wine, available only at the Avondale tasting room. He also prefers a winemaking style that leans away from rich fruit density toward a leaner, more granular body that comes across as savory, even though a lot of fruit is in there. This one leans toward red fruits at the beginning and a tartness in the finish that prolongs the taste and proves to be very satisfying.
