Vietti, Colli Tortonesi DOC (Piedmont, Italy) Timorasso 2018

Apr 14, 2021

By Miranda Franco

Hailing from Piedmont — home to Italy’s famed reds Barolo and Barbaresco — Timorasso is growing as one of Italy’s most intriguing indigenous white varieties.  Timorasso is a grape variety that often improves with age and holds the aromatics of a Riesling with a Chenin Blanc’s mouth-filling character.  The Vietti 100 percent Timorasso is a beautiful combination of stringent acidity and depth.  Ripe apricots, honey, and spices emerge from the glass.  On the palate, its racy acidity cuts through first, followed by herbal notes of anise and hay, chased by zesty citrus and stone fruit flavors.  This Italian white sensation will knock your socks off!
